Clay Shirky: How Twitter can make history (TED Talk)

Twitter is so easy everyone can use it. That’s the secret of its success and that’s why it plays in the same league as Google and mass media. Instead of overburden the user with features, it encourages creativity (hundreds of applications and forms of usage evolved around the tool).

Why do we twitter?

Target group, competitors and multiplicators use Twitter

Special form of customer proximity, for the support as well

Direct and fast access to interesting people and companies

Information

Strategy

A minimum of strategy is a must (otherwise one fritters away) but don’t overdo it (it’s like with ZCOPE: only plan the necessary ;-)

Topics: ZCOPE, project management and working life

Hashtags/series: There are #ZCOPETip and #PMTip, the former provides hints for the usage of ZCOPE, the later about project management and the working life.

Quotes: Know-how and expirience on the point. Surprisingly a lot of citations fit perfectly in the 140 character. What would these smart people have twittered?

RSS feeds: Needless to say we twitter the articles from our blog, for the time being manually.

Retweeting: Interesting articles, quotes, etc. And tweets from the team, if it’s about ZCOPE.

Scheduled tweets: Yes, for the purpose of regularity, time saving and I’m not always in the office… and for days when creative enlightenment doesn’t hit me.

Why follow whom?

We don’t only follow people engaged in project management but it should be a related topic (e.g. self-management, professional life, SaaS, etc.).

Whom we don’t follow are marketing spams and accounts with exactly two tweets, both of them from January of the previous year.

We twitter on: www.twitter.com/zcope

Clay Shirky: How Twitter can make history (TED Talk)

Was diese schlauen Köpfe wohl alles getwittert hätten?

Retweeting: Interessante Artikel, Zitate, etc.
